For Those Who Desire
In proportion to the size of the community, the
Brenham Maifest parade ranks with other such
- events receiving national acclaim, Buch as the Ty-
ler Rose Festival, San Antonio’s Battle of Flowers,
and Pacific coast parade events. Milton Routt,
Maifest chairman tells us he has heard visitors to
Brenham say.
The magnitude of the chairman’s job is impres-
sive as are the results of his efforts each year.

Call Ahead For Fun
With Memorial Day weekend “just around the
corner," it seems to me just about every- family
I to busy making holiday plans — for a backyard
1 barbecue, a neighborhood get together or a trip ‘
out of town. -v—.........
If you are planning to visit out of town friends
or relatives, it’s a good idea to call and let them
know when to expect you. And if you plan to visit
any of the state parks or resort areas, better call
ahead for good accommodations.
Since most resorts can be reached by telephone
at practically any hour, you can save money by
calling on Sundays or any weekday after 6 p. m.,
when long distance rates are lower.
And by calling station to station, you can save
as much as one third more.
But the sooner you call, the sooner you can make
the rest of your Plans. Why not call this evening.
ElseIs So Dependable
Most folks don't realize it, but everytime you
make or receive a telephone call, your phone sets
a new record for dependability.
And because it does, you needn't worry about" ~
wear and tear, replacement parts or repair bills.
When repairs are needed, there is no charge to
I you. I doubt whether there are many-other things
you have that are so free of trouble as your phone.
