Long suffering males, replaced in many lines of busines: I industry by Women, hav imitated the
lowly worm ahd turned on the feminine opposition with retalia. . y measures. While the older males of the
species are being permitted to continue their battle against women in commerce, the younger generation
is being taken in hand to prove that if the misrepresented-to-be-weaker sex can make a success in busi-
ness, man can do equally as well in the home. In the Hawthorne Junior High School, at Yonkers, N. Y.,
a class of boys is being taught how to iron, bake, sew, launder, make beds and generally prove proficient
at what were known as housewifely duties once upon a time. But how times have changed! Girls, if
you're casting about for a docile, home-loving and housekeeping hubby look Yonkersward foryouride.il.

“Changing the Bed” or, even per-
haps, “I. Modern Man a Wash-

their firM instruction in bualn.ua .
ways and means from man, so is
the male youth of Yonkers getting
its initial task of "home life” from
an instructress.
Miss Ethel V. Antes, home eco-
' nomics teacher at the Yonkers .
High School, is doing a good job.
it’s reported, of showing her young [
bucks that "man's place is in the
home." And, apparently, she is
getting converts who are quite en- I
thusiastic about their newly devel- i
oped duties. - i I
The boys are taught the art of'
bed making, so now they can dra-i
matize the old one about "making
your bed and lying in it." Dish-
wiping, which used to be tolerated,
by mankind, has been replaced by
dish-washing - and wiping it has
been reported that "too many cooks
spoil the broth," but Miss Antes'
class of boys is getting mass in-
struction in cooking and baking.
It may sound ironical, but the
boys are taught how to iron, along
with their other "minor” tasks,
such as sewing, sweeping. dusting
laundering and so forth. Miss An-
