A prayer does not have to be made of words it can be the sketch of a
pencil on a drawing board. This one expresses the thoughts and yearnings
of the person whose soul grasped the pencil.
Here in your own newspaper you have encountered some unknown
artist's depiction of the Christi That artist s prayer can be your prayer... if it
expresses your thoughts . . . your yearnings
Such are the riches of our Christian faith that each one of us is strength-
ened, encouraged, empowered by the devotion of another
That's why every week you will find us together in worship. We share
our prayers. We share our Lord.

Sunday, July 19, at four
o’clock in the afternoon, the
home of Mr. and Mn. James
Huebner in Bellville, was the
setting for baptism of their
baby granddaughters. Natalie
Nutter, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Wayne Nutter of
Houston, and Keeley and
Kelsey Kurtz, twin daughters
of Mr. and Mn. Mark Kunz
also of Houston, were received
into the Christian faith
through the rite of holy
baptism. The Reverend Wil-
lard Z. Rother, chaplain,
Texas State Home in Giddings,
performed the service. Rev.
Rother is an American
Lutheran minister
Sponsors for Natalie Nutter
were Betty Nutter, Benny
Nutter and Mr. and Mn. Mark
Kurtz. Sponsors for Keeley
and Kelsey Kurtz were Mr. and
Mrs. Ed Kole, and Mr. and
Mrs. Wayne Nutter. Keeley
and Kelsey are also the grand-
daughters of Mr. and Mrs.
Ollie Kurtz of Sealy.
An antique table, a remem-
brance from the children’s
great-grandfather, Waldo
Huebner, served as the home
altar. It was covered by a linen
and hand crocheted cover
made by great-grandmother
Huebner. The altar was
centered with a wooden cross
based on a circle (symbolizing
eternity) with the triangle in its
center (symbolizing the Holy
Trinity). It was made by Ed
Kole. The baptismal font was a
large sea shell decorated with
smaller shells. The shell is the
symbol for baptism in the
Lutheran Church. The floral
offering was an arrangement
of pink carnations, greenery
and baby’s breath in large
conch shell. Three crystal
candlelabra held the baptismal
candles decorated with the
