sanctuary to a Christmas hymn, and
rendered several selections, both to
organ accompaniment and a cap-
pella, during the service.
St. Martin’s has an extensive
music program among its large
congregation, and the choir of some

San Felipe Lions
hold meeting and
Christmas party
San Felipe Lions Club members
assembled for a Christmas dinner
and party at Tony's Restaurant Sat-
urday night, December 17. They
dined and visited, and exchanged
gifts during the party hours.
Club president Linda Currens-
Schulke conducted a brief business
meeting, during which the club
took care of several pending mat-
ters, one which included the collec-
tion and distribution of food for
Christmas to people in the com-
munity. Norma Henry and Bobbie
Hintz are taking care of this club
project.
The members also voted to pur-
chase a barbecue pit to be used in
the club’s money-maker, the rou-
tine barbecue-sales project.
George Lister asked the blessing
before the meal, which was served
from the restaurant buffet.
Following the meal, Santa ar-
rived to distribute gifts from be-
neath the decorated Christmas tree
near the door. As he called out
. numbers, men, women and children
made a gift selection. The individ-
g ual with the next number could take
the gift if he or she liked it, allow-
ing the person left without a gift
. the opportunity to survey already
opened gifts, or select a new one.
This created a good deal of merri-
ment, as some items went from
person to person..

Christmas carol-singing made the
Sealy Chamber of Commerce
membership Christmas party an es-
pecially delightful event at the
home of Dr. Dennis and Rebecca
Marek and their daughters Tuesday
night, December 13. No matter that
the “weather outside was frightful,
the warmth inside was delightful",
so felt the men and women who
came to enjoy a bit of the festivi-
ties of the holiday season.
Helping their mother and dad in
hosting the party were Marissa and
Meredith, who also joined in the
