Brown the past week-end. Mrs.
Brown returned to Pittsburgh
with her father for a few week’s

Mrs. N. C. Galloway, who has
been visiting Mr. and Mrs. L. B.
McElroy, is visiting relatives in
Belton this week. While there, her
little son Nathan will undergo a
tonsilectomy.
Mr..and. Mn LB., McElroy
spent the past week-end at Gal-
veston and Goose Creek.
Mrs. H. Bowen, who has been
visiting in the McElroy home the
past few weeks, returned to her
home in Goose Creek with them.
Mrs. Bernie Dement is visiting
friends in Belleville this week.
Mrs. Dale Poe was called to
Ciseo by the illness of her mother
there.

The John W. Barton Bible class
of the First Methodist church of
Overton was entertained Monday
evening June 7, at the Humble
Gasoline Plant Recreation Hall,
with Mesdames R. E. Buckner
and G. C. Patterson as hosihsses.
A short business session was
conducted by Mrs. Louise Box,
president of the class. Then the
educational and fascinating ser-
ies of games "How much do you
know!" vm begun. A most ex-
citing hour followed. After the
final check-up, Mesdames Or
land Mangum and "Lefty” Reeves
were declared the winning team.
Second place was won by Mes-
dames MeCanlies and Goran.
A dainty refreshment course
consisting of sandwiches, cakes,
and lee tea were served to more

Texas was solemnized on Sunday
afternoon when Miss Laura Bell
Bates, attractive sister of Mrs.
W. M; Coats, of Longview, be-
came the bride of Mr. Jack Moore
of Longview, son of Mr. and Mrs.

Sir Robert Borden, former Prem-
ier of Canada, died today.
