Gets 3 Years in
Mail Fraud Case
DALLAS, Sept. 16 (P)—A 60-
year-old man serving two years
on a swindling conviction drew
an additional three-year prison
term yesterday after pleading
guilty to mail fraud charges.
Nathan P. Jones was accused
of bilking people out of down
payments on homes.
He was brought to Dallas from
Huntsville where he is serving
the two-year term for swindle
in connection with his operation
of Town & Country Builders.
Yesterday’s sentence was on a
mail fraud indictment.
U. S. Dist. Atty. Frank B.
Potter said, “Jones would go into
a town, buy an option on a large
piece of ground, then put an ad
in the paper and get as much
down on a home as he could.
“He sold to scores and scores
of persons in Texas and never
built a home.”
Potter added Jones also ope-
rated his scheme in Nebraska,
Kansas, Colorado, New Mexico
and Louisiana.
