Dear Heloise:
If you have a laundry chute
to the basement, use a large
cloth bag to bring clothes up in
and when it's empty then put
the bag down the chute.
Saves carrying an empty
clothes basket back downstairs.

'Dear Heloise:
Are you tired of getting your
hair wet, especially in the back,
(every time you take a shower?
I‛ve found a solution. .
Fold a wash cloth or finger-
tip towel and place it inside
your shower cap at the neck
line. The towel or cloth might
get wet, but your' hair stays
dry.

Dear Heloise:
[ I wonder how I can remove
old cellophane tape feom the in-
side of my cupboard doors
where I taped some recipes.
Now that I have removed the
recipes and have finished clean-,
ing the doors, I cannot get the
tape off. It seems as if it is al-
most cemented on. , !

P.S. Isn't Christmas Eve won-

9 Dear Heloise:
• Please pass this on to other
aS mothers. It saves so many falls
2 and bumps.
28 I tried tape and sanding the
99 soles of my baby's shoes, but
A they were still slippery. Then I
bought some very thin foam
5 rubber. (about one-eighth inch
2 thick) and glued it to the soles
09 of his shoes. Result—no more
falls. - > ' . |

Peace
' ...and Happy Birthday, to our Lord.
It is traditional but more significant than
any birthday in human history.
There is more to Christmas than tinsel and
glittering gifts. On that day, the word
of God became flesh and dwelt among us. Love
literally came down at Christmas...a new
birth to cheer and redeem. It is the birthday
of the greatestteacher—the sublimest
preacher—the “Good Shepherd,” the 01
“Son of God,” the “Saviour of Men.” -25
Then, let us not disgrace this Holy
Day, Christ’s Birthday, through --sm30
sinful celebration or ‘cheap’ 282 •
living. Happy Birthday, Jesus! .^B

help for homemakers

Dear Heloise:
Last night I had to fix a hur-
ried supper so I got out a pack-
aged macaroni and cheese din-
ner.
One package~of it makes
twice as much as we can eat
for one meal (and macaroni
just isn't quite as good warmed
over), so I decided to divide
it.
I laid the foil package of
cheese on the counter and flat-
tened it with my hand. With a
knife blade, I pushed down
across the center of the pack-
age, and the chees. moved
back from the'center. I
I cut the foil across this in-
dentation, turned the cut edge
foil over on one of the halves
of the metal package, rolled it
up as far as I could and set
the package aside. I took the
other half, plus half the maca-
roni and prepared it for dinner.
Now I have half the cheese
and half the macaroni left over
to be freshly prepared for an-
other meal.
This method would also work
on other foil wrapped items . . .
such as French onion soup mix,
when you only want to make
half the recipe of soup or dip,
etc.
