Sweat is produced by two sets of glands in the body. The ec-
crine glands turn on the flow when temperatures are hot or
when you physically exert yourself. The apocrine glands act in
response to emotions. Keeping cool, comfortable and odor-free
calls for the use of either a deodorant or anti-perspirant. The one
you should use depends upon how much you perspire. If
wetness is not a big problem, a deodorant will probably be fine.
Most deodorants contain anti-bacterial ingredients that mask
odor. Anti perspirants, on the other hand, stop the flow of
perspiration as well. They usually contain aluminum salts which
block the pores from releasing moisture. Aluminum zirconium,
often found in roll-ons, is the most effective of these salts.

work and lobbying of lay people
such as our own local advisory

allowed to continue as part of the

“Three other changes brought
about by H.B. 72 will also have an
adverse effect on some vocational

number of absences because of
extracurricular activities as well as
the ruling on the number of courses
that must be passed in order to

“How many of you are aware of
what goes on at your local high

education?” asks Boerne High
Counselor Billie Wilson.
“In the next several weeks, a

in this newspaper to tell you
explicitly the purpose of the various
programs, the skills learned within
those programs and the advantages
gained by both the student and the
local community.
“As these programs appear each
week, please weigh the marvelous
opportunities available to students,
the services provided to the local
community, and consider that with
the passage of H.B. 72 this past
summer, all such programs were
nearly lost.

doesn't DEVELOP cancer. The changes whh cause a Class II PAP smear are
MINOR changes in the cells of the cervixwhich MAY turn into cancer in
several years, but will NEVER become caner if you follow your doctor's ad-
vice.
Another perspective: Most pre-cancer canges in the cervix are MINOR
compared to the common skin cancers manpeople have removed from their
faces, hands and arms.
Furthermore: A PAP test can be painless ifjone properly. A little instruction
by the doctor, nurse practitioner or nurse till make the experience much
easier than you would ever imagine.
Please don't fear a PAP smear. I
