HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
1 WHEREAS, The family and many friends of Joe Paul Cobb were
2 deeply saddened by his passing on June 24, 2005, at the age of 64,
3 and we join them in mourning their loss; and
4 WHEREAS, A active of Brownfield, Mr. Cobb attended Lubbock
5 High School and Texas Tech University before moving to Clovis, New
6 Mexico; and
7 WHEREAS, In 1975, he relocated his family to Paris, Texas, to
8 dedicate himself to the running of the Cobb Ranch, and he also lent
9 his expertise to his work as a director of the All-Breed Bull Sale;
10 and
11 WHEREAS, Mr. Cobb gave generously of his time and talent for
12 the benefit of the larger community as well, serving as a director
13 of the chamber of commerce and as a member of the Paris Rotary Club
14 and the Board of Governors of McCuistion Regional Medical Center;
15 and
16 WHEREAS, A well-rounded individual, he further enjoyed
17 sculpting and wood turning, and was the owner of the Circle W Health
18 Food Store; and
19 WHEREAS, Although Mr. Cobb will long be missed, his unique
20 and irreplaceable spirit will continue to shine brightly in the
21 memories of all those fortunate enough to have known him; now,
22 therefore, be it
23 RESOLVED, That the 79th Legislature of the State of Texas,
24 Ist Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of Joe Paul Cobb
