plaint to that effect the merchant
agreed to‘‘knock off’’ the dime
providing the customer would
give him the same treatment that
he gave the Chicago house, then
the fun began. Mr. Customer
paid ninety cents for the dollar
ax. He then had to pay tWo cen s
postage and three cents for the
money order. Then he had to pay
the merchant twenty-five cents
express and was on the point of
taking the ax when he was told
that he wo‘d have to leave the
ax at the store for three or four
days, the time it would take for
it to come from Chicago. As
several witnesses were present
when when the agreement was
made, the customer had to
comply with all the abcve terms
and on summing it up afterward,
he had paid $120 fur the dollar
ax and had etill saved writing

od of causing electric sleep, says
a Paris dispatch the Times. It is
claimed for the discovery that it
will replace chloroformed and o-
ther anesthetics in all surgica
operations. The discovery pro-
ceeded from study of the effects
of intermittent currents and from
che knowledge that the skull and
brains offer but little resistance
to the current. Application of
the current on the heal is not
dangerous and there are no ill
effects even when the experiment
lasts for hours. —Dallas News.

Colorado City.

F. L. Pierce was killed 7 miles
northwest of Colorado by the ac-
cidental discnsrge of a gun.
Mr. Pierce, his wife and two

Glasscock county for some time,
and were returning to their home
at Winters and had a loaded gun
in the surrey with them and th©
gun fell out, striking the side of
the vehicle which caused the dis-

has been in the real estate busi-

ly married by J idge G. W. Neil
