been on the coast, having been lured
there by the alleged boom which is said
to be on there. The property trans-
ferred consist of 4100 acres unimproved
land and the price paid paid was 825,-
000 In cash. The transfer was made
through T. J. Skaggs, the Indefatigable
real estate agent who deserves much
credit for his enterprise in inducing the
purchasers to consider Bee county land
as an investment. The purchasers are
Mesars. T. N. Ball, a capitalist of Pitts-
fleld, Illinois and R. T. Hicka, caahier
of the First National bank of that
place. It is the purpose of the gentle-
men to put a surveyor on the ground
immediately and subdivide the ranch
into suitable farming tracts and colo-
nize the same with Illinois farmers, or
any others who wish to buy. This is a
very good beginning for 1896. There
are several other large land deals on
tapis wlt > fair prospects of their con-
summation. The outlook for consider-
able activity in real estate in Bee coun-
ty this year is very promising.
