From the very beginning, the
voyage has been plagued with ill-
luck. Baker and his crewmen had
hoped to leave July 4, but creditors
attached the raft. An "angel” paid
off Baker’s most pressing debts
and the 32 - foot plank raft finally
headed out to sea. -
But late Friday, the rope at-
tached to the. boat that was towing
the Lehi snapped before the raft
'could make the great coastal cur-
rent 50 miles offshore.
Instead of hitting the great cur-
rent, the Lehi was tossed this way
and that in the unpredictable and
variable shoreline currents that

at 2:15 p. m. following a noon bar-
becue dinner.
Major item expected to come
before the delegation is the ques-
tion f moving the agency offices
to Austin. The board of directors
has recommended the move.
