HENRY BUERGERS CELEBRATE
2STH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Buerger of
the New Wehdem Community,
who were married 25 years ago
Sunday. November 14. celebrated
the event with a chicken and
turkey barbecue at their home.
Despite the rain, some 170
guests were present.
The couple have two children
Mrs. FredHenske ol Ganado and
Glenwood Buerger, who is sta-
tioned in Wackenheim, Germany
with the armed forces.
Some members of the wedding
party were also present, they are:
Mrs. Erich Oberrhof. who was the
flower girl; Mr. and Mrs."Adolph
Buerger. bridesmaid and grooms-
man; Mr. and Mrs. Raymond El-
lermann, bridesmaid and grooms-
man; and Clarence Goessler,
groomsman.
During the evening a. short pro-
gram was given to honor the
couple. A group of ladies from
the New Wehdem Ladies Aid and
Missionary Society sang, “Oh

years of experience in this work,
Mrs. Wallie Schmid was chair-
man and Mrs. Ernest Brandt co-
chairman in charge of arrange-
• ments for the school, and they
cooperated with Mrs. G. M. Wiley,
president of the club, in staging
an event that was declared to be
most suecessful and a great help
to Jocal members interested in
promotion of flower shows.____
First session of the school was
held Monday morning and con-
tinued after a brief noon inter-
mission. with Mrs. L. Z. Pledger
of Alvin conducting the course of
study on “Flower Arranging." Ar-
rangements suitable for various
occasions, both formal and in-
formal, were studied and demon-
strated.
Mrs. C. E. Beavers of Ft. Worth,
one of the nation's outstanding
flower shpw judges and instruc-
tors, was in charge of Tuesday’s
course on "Horticulture and
Flower Show Practice,” and her
lectures were full of practical ad-
vice that will aid club members
in their efforts to stage flower
shows that will be a credit to the
community.
Each day a short recess was
held during the noon hour, when
informal luncheons of turkey
sandwiches, potato chips, cookies
and coffee were served,.

closing session of the school this
morning, when the students turn:

white styrofoam. The cake was
made by Mrs. W. O. Dannhaus of
New Wehdem.
