PAUL WHITEMAN WILL BE
GBEAT MUSICAL TREAT
“Yes, Jazz Is Savage." That is the
opening number of the Peul White-
man concert scheduled for Amarillo
on November 7, and almost the entire
Panhandle i planning to come to
Amarillo to enjoy the classy jasx
numbers.
The other throe numbers following
the opening selection are:
“Sugar," "Gypsy" and "Tiger Rag"
and each is a winnsr in its class.
People love jazz music in spite of the
tidal wave of condemnation which
tried to wreck the pioneer ship. It
has come to stay because it fills its
own particular place on this old
globe, and its denouncers are settling
back in quietude.
Paul Whiteman ia the King of Jasx
and just what people think of jass
will be proven by the audience on
M November 7.
V It would seem that promoters of
- classical programs would see ths
handwriting on the wall, and in order
' to make the dramatic musical pro-
gram more popular, they would sand-
4 wieh in a little of the lively, vitality-
V stirring, gloom-chasing jass.
