The reduction* ta crude oil prices
were not much of a surprise to pro-
ducers generally in th* Mid-Conti:
6 nent area, as all signs have pointed
toward price reduction* recently.
Production ha* been steadnly gain-
tag, new field* are constantly being
opened up, and consumption of gaso-
lino bus been going through its regu-
lar ssasonal decline.
The price cut indicates that pur-
chasing companies have decided Roth.,
ing off a concrete nature is going to
be accomplished in the near future
toward stemming the tide of new
production or of holding in check
field* now undergoing development.
It is per hope nothing more than a
coincidence, but the price reduction
came only a day after the Mid-Conti-
nent Oil and Gas association had te
all intent* and purposes abandoned
the proposed oil-control legislation
that had been placed before it by the
American Bar association. The mass
, meetings scheduled to consider the
bills were postponed for the second
time
