Zeppelin, having sailed 6,880 miles
across Europe and Asin from Fried-
richshafen, to Japan’s capital city in
IM hours, landed at 6:27 p. m. today

Tonight after historic flight it was
safe in the hangar at Kasumigaura
airport, while ancient Yeddo and the
world acclaimed Commander Hugo
Eekener aa the hero of the air.
The Graf was groomed up for s
loop across the Pacific to Los Ange-
les. Commander Eckener plans to
stay only three days in Tokyo before
heeding for California and Lakehurst.
The flight surpassed all expecta-
tioaa of speed and commufications.
In north Siberia the Zeppelin main-
tained. wireless communication either
with European or Japanese station*.
The passengers descended an im-
pro vised gang-plank after T o’elock

PAMPA, Aug. 19.—Pampa will veto
today oa four bond issues totalling
$238,000.
The election is for a new city hall
and jail, paying improvements, fire
deportment building and equipment,
and parks and playgrounds.
The largest bond issues, that for
a city hall, is for 4100,000, and pro-
vides for the erection of a structure
in Albert Square, the lot owned for
that purpose by the city.
‛ Library Also
Beaides the offices of the city and
the jail, the building would provide
storage space for city records, an
auditorium and a public library.
The paving issue, $85,000, would
provide not only for further street
work within the city, but would nerve
to conpect two paved county high
ways with parement in the citg:
‘ Provision for parks and play-
grounds would be provided for by a
440,000 bend Issne. At present the
eity is without any improved park
site.
Fire Equipment Sought
With the thrust of inereased fire
insurance rates in Pampa the need
for better fire fighting facilities has
become acute, and the bond isse for
434,000 for a new station and appa-
rakei, if pasted, is expected to do
much toward deereasing fire hazards.
According to figures compiled by
the Board of City Development, there
are between MO and BM poll taxes
paid, and that number will be able
to veto on the bonds.
Voting will be from 4 s. m. to 4
p. m. and will bo held at eno pince,
the elty hall.
