BPERMAN, Sept. 10.—limo MeClel-
lan, who Hvee 22 miles northwest of
Spearman, bought a registered Jersey
cow from the county agent. This sow
produced 38 pounds of milk and tested
5.8 per rent butterfat.
This was a demonstration to Mr. Me-
Clellan that a good cow was worth-
while, and he has purchased four other :

PIGGOTT, Ark., Sept. IL—City goi-
ernment in Piggott is almost a family
affair.
Whenever Mayor W. T. Adama wanta
to consult the city attorney, be calle in
hie wife, who also happens to* be the
only woman lawyer la northeast Arkan-
sas. She did not even become a candid-
ate to get the position.
Friends wrote her name on the last
city election ballot which also carried
her husband into a second term aa may-
or, thereby adding another partnership
arrangement to ths Adams family.
Mra. Adams, who hod achieved see-
cens as an instructor in ths Pennsylva-
nia State Teachers College, began study-
ing law in her husband’ office in 1923.
Before marriage they had both taught
I school in Quincy, Illinois.
She received her license to practice in
ell Arkansas courts laat year and im-
mediately became her husband’s law
partner, under the firm name of Adams
and Adama.
