_ o two young people in the spring of love
there seem to be no problems- in 'the world
either now or to come which are insurmount-
able. As the years roll by, however, we won-
der if they are really prepared for the buffets
of life. The answer can come only when one
knows what sort of religious foundation they
have. If religion to them is just a bowl of cher-
ries, both now and in the sweet by and by,
then they are building on sand. Any real storm
of life will shatter such faith. However, if reli-
gion to them means trusting in God alone, not
in earthly security, if it means recognizing that
His hand works through pain as well as pleas-
ure, if it means giving honest thanks to Him for
all of life every day, then this couple has built
on-rock and no storm will destroy such faith.

The Church is God's appointed

His demand for man to respond to that
love by loving his neighbor. Without
this grounding in the love of God, no
government or society or way of life
will long persevere and the freedoms
which we hold so dear will inevitably
