As has occurred many times in
the past, an upset could mark the
renewal of the Cub-Rattler series.
But comparative scores are an in-
dication that is not likely this time.
Brenham should enter the fray
at least a three touchdown choice
over the District 21 AA entry.
The Cubs have beaten A&M Con-
solidated. 43-8, Cameron, 50-6, and
Lamar Consolidated, 16-8.

Stars Against Lamar
A standout in the Brenham High School forward
wall in the Cubs’ 16-6 victory over Lamar Consolidated
was Center-Tackle Mike Cole, a 178-Ib. junior letterman,
His play has steadily improved as Coach Tommy Mims’
team has rushed to a 3-0 season record. Cole will be a
starting tackle for the Brenhamites when the Cubs re-
new their rivalry with the Navasota Rattlers in a non-
conference game here Friday night. (Staff Photo).

Royal made himself very popu-
lar with Texas University football
fans by raising the team from a
lack-luster squad to national prom-
inence with a 8-3-1 record in 1957
and a bid to the Sugar Bowl.
But he really became the fair-
haired boy of the old grads last
season when the Longhorns de-
feated arch-rival Oklahoma for the
first time in seven years. The 1958
record was 7-3.
So far this season, his squad has
