Lions-Steers could
prove playoff key
Graham, 1-3 overall in district, has
been playing better on the road than at
home. The Steers won 5148 at Vernon
Tuesday and played north zone power
Iowa Park a 74-73 game on the Hawk's
home court. But they were blown out in
Graham by top-ranked Mineral Wells -

Brownwood’s District 4-AAA battle
with Graham tonight has some
significance even though it won't have
an immediate effect on the standings
because of the new zoned format in the
league this season.
The tip-off in old Lion Gym will follow
at 4 p.m. boys junior varsity game and
a 5:30 girls varsity contest.
Coach Steve Boothe's Lions are
currently 1-1 and tied with Stephenville
for the south tone’s runnerup spot
Graham is also 1-1 in the north tone and
shares second with Vernon.
Tonight’s game could eventually
come into play if the Lions or Steers, or
both, finish regular season played tied
for first or second in their zones '

HPU, 11-3 on the year and off
to a 3-1 start in the LSC, relles
heavily on James Hall, the
conference scoring leader at
28.7 and two-time player of the

scorer in each of the Jackets 14

Six-three Marshall Davis
(10.7) is the only other Jacket in
