nist Party candidate for presi-
dent in 1936 and 1940, is dead at
Browder, who was general
secretary of the Communist
Party in the United States from
1130 to 1945, died in his sleep
Wednesday at his home here

Association in 1944. In 1946
Browder was expelled from the
association as a "revisionist"
