The 18th Infantry team came back strong
after their defeat of last week at the hands
of the 22nd Infantry and easily disposed of
the rourth Artillery team in a one sided
game by the score of 9 to 2.
The 18th fell on Kroniger’s offerings in
the first two innings for six hits and scored
eight runs. He was relieved in the third by
Williams, who pitched good ball for the re-
mainder of the game, only two hits being
scored off his delivery. Mulkey pitched well
for the winners allowing five hits.
For the 18th Cook an Patch played well
while McCullough starred for the losers.

Bunching their hits with the 23rd Infan-
try’s battery and fielding errors coupled
with the pitchers wildness, enabled the 6th
Cavalry to win an easy victory in the first
game of the scheduled double-header here
yesterday. The final score was 12 to 6 in
favor of the Sixth Cavalry.
The 23rd started off like winners scoring
three runs in the first inning, but their lead
was a short lived one, as the Cavalry came
to bat and scored five runs and maintained
the lead throughout the remainder of the
game. Shankle was the only one of the
23rd’s pitchers that could locate the plate
the other pitchers passing seven batters in
four innings.
Whiteside’s home run in the sixth inning
was the feature of the 23rd’s playing. Single-
ton and Ford played well for the Cavalry.
