Portland, Ore., Feb. 12.—Today was “clean up” day in Port-
land by proclamation of Mayor Albee, in anticipation of thousands
of visitors going to and from the California expositions.
Workingmen, business men, housewives and thirty thousand
school children joined in making Portland a “spotless town.”
War was waged on untidy lots and buildings and grounds were
put in the most attractive condition.
