Play Time
Tour cat to an easy pal to
please, but ha does require a little
entertainment and amusement
For instance, the simplest toys
will please him —empty thread
spools, a ping pong ball, paper
bags, empty boxes, rubber mice,
and pipe cleaners curled up into
a spring. Because a piece of eel-
lophane eracklee like a moving
insect, it will immediately attract
and delight your cat.
Have the children make some
cat toys themselves. It’s easily
done. Gather some cloth, string,
catnip and cellophane. Cut strips
of .tout cloth that are about six
inches long and four inches wide.
Op each piece of cloth put catnip
and a crushed piece of cellophane.
Fold and sew or tie tightly to
make a bag. Attach a string
about 18 inches long to the bag,
and you’re all set.
Also, cats love to get inside
paper bags and fight their way
out against imaginary enemies.
But, the experts at the Purina
Pet Cars Center warn you that
as a kitten stalks and attacks,
it's a great temptation to let him
"attack" you—a make-believe en-
emy. You will find as a kitten
grows, these "imaginary attacks”
leave scratches and Utes. So, to
avoid trouble in the future, do
notaecidtentatty train yourkiiten
to be wild.
Keep play time gentle and sim-
ple, and you'll have a happy eat
