When the Caldwell Hornets vi-
lit Bellville at 1 p.m. Friday
night for a game with the Brah-
mas, it will be the first time
these two teams have met in ov-

However, to veteran football
fans from both towns, it will

ville rivalry produced some
great moments.
Probably the best remember-

teams. In 12 games the region-
al champion Brahmas were un-
beaten, untied and unscored on.,
that is, with the exception of the
Caldwell game.
The Hornets almost pulled off
one of the greatest upsets of all
time. They had the mightly Wil-
lie Zapalac - led Brahmas tied
13-13 at the half.
Bellville eventually pulled out
a victory, but Caldwell had the
distinction of being the onty
team to score on them that
year.
This year’s Hornets find them
selves in somewhat of the same
position as their old-time coun-
terparts. They will be a decided
underdog to the state’s number
seven ranked 2A team. Howev-
er, they will bring a clean einte
into the game since they defeat-
