experience overseas was followed by
a year’s work with the Community
Council in New York. The Skipper

conservative Nantucketers to have done
a “smart" thing, the more so since they
disragarded warnings of disaster and
predictions of failure,
Plans for the second annual baby
parade will be completed, and plans for
other beach activities outlined at a
special meeting of the Galveston Beach
association-to be held at 11 o’clock to-
morrow morning at Gaido’s cafe on
the beach, W. L. Roe general manager
of the Galveston Beach association ant
nounced this morning. The meeting is
of the utmost importance and Mr. Roe
is very anxious that all members of the
association be present.
In discussing features of the comins
baby show, Mr. Roe stated that mer-

The Skipper has much more of the at-
mosphere of a coffee house, with the
informality of an overseas canteen and
the good food that is too often lack-

tea room. Its success comes from the
“gumption” as the Islanders say—the
experience and adaptability of the crew
now known all over Nantucket as “the
Skipper girl.”

it is unable to meet the present demand
on the Pacific coast from its own out-
put. Some time ago it entered nto.A
contract with the California .Petroleum
cnlany to buy its output, and has
taken some of the midcontinent pro-
duction. That there is an exceedingly
large demand for oil and oil products
on the Pacific coast has been demon-
strated bv the fact that there has been
very little decline in prices in that Ses-
n nf the country. In the midconti
tiont°ana®eastern‘fields prices have
dropped from 50 to 60 per cent
generally seasonable..
High barometric pressure overlies
the Atlantic and Gulf states, extending
westward over eastern Texas, While a
‘ trough of low pressure prevails over
the Plateau and northern Rockies. This
distribution of pressure is favorable for
partly cloudy weather, probably with
local showers in this vicinity tonight
,06 and Tuesday. Light to moderate south-
,00 east winds will prevail along the coast.
