A force of men are at work re-
pairing the sandy stretch of
road passing the Industry school
building from north to south.
This particular piece of road was
a sore spot in the eyes of the
traveling public. With that piece
of road properly clayed, the In-
dustry business men will soon
realize that good roads will bring
them more trade and less vex-

Columns, pages, yes volumes
have been written on the regret-
table way in which our laws are
being violated. Long sermons
have been preached on the same
subject—all this of little avail.
The only way to obey a law is to
respect it as a law, and, if viola-
ted, to teach the man or the
woman who violates the law the
true meaning of the same by as-
seseing the proper punishment
without regard to the person's
sranding in his or her comma-
»ity.

Card of Thanks.
I wish to thank the people of (
Bellville for the kindness and in-
terest shown me at the time I
had the gin accident which caus-
ed me to suffer the loss of three
fingers and the thumb on my
right hand. I am especially grate-
ful for the skill of the three local
physicians, who are responsible
for the saving of a portion of my
hand, which might have been
amputated had it come under the
treatment of less skillful and
eareful doctors. - Andrew Smith.
Last week occurred the mar-
riage of Louis Schultz and Miss
Olga Stuessel, prominent young
people of New Ulm. The cere-
mony was performed at the;
bride's parents, near Cat Spring. |
The young bride is a sister to
Mrs. Ben E. Peschel with whom
she spent much of her time the
past year. The groom is a son
of Mr. and, Mrs. Julius Schultz,
and has a fine reputation among
his neighbors and friends.—New

Truly is this a wonderful sale. Record breaking crowds of satis-
fied customers thoroughly pleased and delighted with the almost ‘
unlimited number of the wonderful values offered, have flocked in
to our store every day since the sale began last Wednesday. That
we have broken all previous sale records; that we have sold more
merchandise than ever before in our history, is gratifying -extreme
lyso. But that this should continue day after day, without let un
or pause, delights us most, for it shows us, as nothing else could HP
