subdivision or defined road district that
has been heretofore established and has
issued bonds which are not outstanding
and unpaid; except that the following
road district in Austin County, Texas,
has heretofore issued road bonds, under
the provisions rf Chapter 2, title 18
Revised Statutes 1911. as follows:
Road District No. 2: Date of Bonds
June 15, 1911: numbered consecutively,
from 35 to 50 inclusive, for the sum of
$1000.00 each, aggregating the sum of
16,000.00 dollars payable at the office of
the County Treasurer of Austin Coun-
ty, Texas at Bellville, Texas 40 years
from date, redeemable at the option of
the district any time after five years
from date, with interest at the rate of
5 per cent per annum, payable semi-
annually.
It is therefore considered and ordered
by the court that an election be held in
Mid road district No. 4 Austin County,
Texas on the 25th day of March 1924
which is not less than thirty days from
the date of this order, at which election
the following proposition shall be sub-
mitted:
Whether or not the bonds of Road
District No. 4 of Austin County, Texas,
shall be issued by the commissioners
court in the sum of $450,000.00 dollars,
for the purpose of the purchase and
construction of district roads and the
further construction, maintenance and
operation of macadamized, graveled or
paved roads and turnpikes, or in aid
thereof throughout the Road District
No. 4 of Austin County. Texas, as fol
lows
First: Bonds aggregating 16,000,00
dollars to be issued for the purpose of
the purchase and construction of dis-
trict roads in said Road District No. 4
of Austin County, Texas. havihg the
same date of maturity, bearing Mme
rates of interest and with similar op-
tions of payment as the bonds hereto-
fore issued and now outstanding against
Road District No. 2 of Austin County.

Second: Bonds aggregating 434,000
dollars to be issued for the purpose of
the further construction, maintenance
and operation of macadamized, gravel-
ed. or paved roads and turnpikes, or in
aid thereof throughout the said Road

fixed by the commissioners court,
serially or otherwise, not to exceed
thirty years from the date thereof, and
bearing interest at the rate of five and
one half per cent per annum and
Whether or not a tax shall be levied
upon the property of said Road Dis-

subject to taxation for the purpose of
paying the interest on Mid bond* and
to provide a sinking fund for the re-
demption thereof at maturity.
