if you want all the State,
J. C. Chance, of Wise
county, was in the city on
Thursday. He likes Denton
county, as is evidenced by
his having leased and planted
175 acres in wheat, out on
Hickory creek. He aaya if
he could sell his Wise county
farm he would move to Den-

to-night.
—The Christian Sunday
school on last Sunday chose
Miss Luella Means as organ-
ist for the school.
— Mrs. Williams of the
north part of the city, who
has been confined to her bed
for several weeks past, was
carried to the county farm on
Tuesday evening.
—J A McAfee of Wash-
ington Citv. who has contrib-
uted several very readable ar-
ticles to our columns, we re-
gret to learn has been very
ill recently, but was better at
latest accounts.
—The Christian church, of
Decatur, have accepted a pro-
posal by Rev. S. D. Perkin-
son. and he is soon to become
the resident minister for that
body, devoting, very nearly,
his entire time to the church
here.
— Dan Shean, candidate
for county judge dropped in
to see us on Tuesday while in
the city. He is making an
active canvass of the countv,
and informed us that he would
speak at East Mound on that
night.
—Eld. Jas. M. Biard, of
Paris, Lamar county, gave
us a friendly call on Tuesday.
He was enroute home, hav-
ing closed a protracted meet-
ing of several days at Chico
on Monday night. The ser-
vices, he informed us, result-
ed in 6 confessions and addi-
tions to the church.
—We met J. B. Collier, of
the East Mound country, on
the public square Tuesday.
He had just returned from a
visit to Greer county, where
he says he saw some very
fine country. He also said
that he saw whele the Rock
Island forces had done some ,
grading about one mile south (
of Bowie. .
The fact that the Tennes-
see Republicans propose ma-
king an aggressive campaign
in that State, without asking
financial aid from the Nation-
al committee, is the most
promising sign of a break in
the “Solid South” yet seen
on the political horizon.

About 300 orators have
been added within the past
few days to the growing list
of campaign speakers under
the direction of Chairman

kers’ Bureau at New York.
The work of accepting or re-
jecting these volunteer pros-
lyters and of assigning them
to appropriate fields without
conflicting dates keeps Mr.
Hahn busier than any theat-
rical manager. In fact no
theatrical manager ever at-
tempted to make so many

ramification of agencies as
