Everything and everybody is begin
ning to get over the big rains. Most
of the cotton had to be replanted, but
people are movers in this part of the
moral vineyard. They have about
worked off all the blues, and most of
them again have smiles on their faces.
Mr. Magnets, has been very low,
this week with rheumatism, but we are
glad to report him better. The neigh-
bors gathered in and worked his crop
over for him last week.
Mr. T. Williamson and family spent
Sunday with Mr. Will Allen.
Mr. Jim King and wife, of Alvord,
paid his father a visit Sunday. Mr.
King says the organ business is a lit-
tle dull in his part of the country.
W. G. Owen says he would like for
“Slug,” of Greenwood to correct a
mistake he made last week in his
letter; he says it was he that sold
Mr. Fortenberry his organ, instead of
Warren & Son.
Some of our neighbors attended
Children’s Day at the Baptist church
at Greenwood Sunday. They report
an interesting time; well entertained
by the children, andlois of nice dinner.
Mr. Tom Dodds has a fine boy at
his house, but we learn that the mother
is very low and not expected to live.
Since we began our letter we have
had another nice rain.
Some of the people on the creeks
have never got to do any plowing since
the big overflow.
The rabbits are getting so numer-
ous in this community that I think
they will soon have the post oak run-
ners all eaten up; they have already
eaten up most of the gardens and
sweet potato patches. Let’s all join in

Editor Halcomb passed through our
city last week.
Audubon can boast the best Sun-
day school and prayer meeting and
singing class of any little place in the
county. Who said Audubon was
dead?
J. L. Shuffler and Uncle Jack Hen-
derson are now the crack wing shots
of the community. Doe isn't in it a
little bit.
The Audubon boys are the best
horse swappers in the county, except
when Sam Pyles comes up, and then
they enn’t swap at all.
Some of our people are making pre-
parations to watch the eclipse of the
sun next Monday. We hope the clouds
may be parted so that we may see the
great phenomenon.

Last Saturday while Mr. Bramblet,
Dick Bramblet. W. W. Allcorn and
Mr. Clark were raking jonnson grass

and asked if it was Indian turnip. Mr.
Clark said tha it was and put a piece
in his mouth, remarking that it had
but little taste. Allcorn put a piece
in his mouth and commenced biting
