ECONOMIC DEVE LOPMENT CORPORATIONNew Board Members Join WEDC
The City of Windcrest offers citizens many opportunities
to get involved in the community. One of the best ways to
serve is to volunteer for a Board or Commission.
At the City Council Meeting held on August 15, 2022, four
new WEDC Board Members were appointed by the Council
to replace four members whose 2-year terms expired.
Frank Martin is a Retired Air Force Major who served
in Vietnam. He brings over 50 years of management
experience, including in Human Resources and Budgeting.
Frank stated, "For some time, I've looked for a way to
directly contribute to the economic success of our great city,
and being appointed to serve on the EDC Board allows me
to do just that."
Rainbeau Presti is a native of Windcrest. She has served on
numerous city boards since 2013 and is a founding member
of the local animal non-profit TxWeACT. Professionally
she has helped promote the beauty of our city as a Realtor
for over 16 years, with a focus on local listings. She is excited
to have the opportunity to better our community by joining
Team EDC!
Tanya Aksamentova moved to Windcrest 4 months ago
from Arizona. She has been blown away by the sense of
community and togetherness and felt it was her duty to
bring her experience in architecture, development, and
real estate to help continue making Windcrest a wonderful
place to live and grow.
Melissa Cervera-Castro is the owner of Rider Realty
Real Estate Brokerage, dealing in both Commercial
and Residential Real Estate. She stated her knowledge
of community and consumer trends will help her serve
the Citizens of Windcrest and the WEDC Board. When
asked why she serves, her reply was, "Our Residents. Our
Community. Our Future."
Board members who continue to serve are Jennifer Newman,President; Roberto "Bubba" Chapa, Treasurer; and Ritchie
"Rip" Stimpson, Board Member.

administration-10/board-commission-
and-committee-applicati-56We have seen an increase in new
stray animals in our area and
we appreciate all the citizens
who call and help us get them
to safety. All captured animals
are held for seven days in hopes
of locating their owners, where
they are given veterinarian care
and placed for adoption. Please
consider attending one of our adoption events if you are
looking to add a furry friend to your home!Remember, pets must be registered and it's imperative that
vaccinations are current. It's highly recommended that
your pet be microchipped so that in the unfortunate event
they are found roaming, they can be quickly returned.
Did you know Windcrest offers a Trap-Neuter-Program
for cats and kittens? Under this program, you will be lent
a trap to facilitate in controlling the ever-growing feline
population. Once spayed or neutered, they will be returned
to the area in which they were captured.
