Shabbat Shalom Houston service will be held at the Houston Congre-
gation for Reform Judaism, 801 Bering Drive, at 8:15 p.m., Friday, Dec.
16. This service is the congregation's Concern for Consciousness Sab-
bath; the topic will be Black-Jewish Relations. After services, all singles
are invited to an Oneg Shabbat. Singles of all ages are invited to
attend; there is no charge for participation.
ISRAEL WINTERSINGLES MISSION BEGINS RECRUITMENT... The UJA
National Winter Singles Mission has begun its recruitment process for
its Feb. 5-15,1989, trip. All Jewish singles ages 24-40 are welcome to
join the "Hatikvah" Mission. The cost for the mission, including
round-trip airfare from New York, land costs and accommodations in
first-class hotels, is $1,950 per person. Singles may opt to stay on in
Israel after the mission or make a postmission extension in Europe.
Applications must be made by Jan. 5 with a $500 deposit. For informa-
