at three-thirty o’clock, when the col-

College of Greenville. The locals are
not discouraged by their defeat of
last week at the hands of Grubbs

working hard this week getting in
shape to beat Wesley. The game this
afternoon will be one of the best of
the season. Go out and help the
home team win.
Work has been suspended on the
Michigan Oil & Gas Company’s well
below Decatur for the time. The
company is asking the farmers who
own the land surrounding the well
to defer the payment of rentals until
the well can be drilled to the Key-
stone sand at about 3260 feet. The
farmers realize the importance of the
movement and are complying with
the request of the Michigan Com-
pany, and work is expected to be
resumed at an early date.

Isn’t it funny that a business man will say
to his daughter: “Now, daughter, I hope
when you get married you will marry a man
who won’t want to live with me;” and the
daughter says: “I’m going to—it’s Andrew
Nutt;” and when the wedding day rolls
around—and the wedding and everything;
and a big write-up goes to the newspaper
and the editor slaps a head on it reading
“Mariana Richardson Marries a Nut,” and
everybody smiles and agrees with the idea;
and Mariana cries, and father cusses be-
cause everybody kids about it; and the
whole thing ends up in an awful mess just
because the editor saved a little type—but
Mr. Business Man still insists, as he always
did, that advertising doesn’t pay for no one
ever reads the paper?
