The weather has been rather
warm ths past week, with showers
for a change. In this iwmediate
viciuitv the showers did no good,
however.
More people have gone away,

Saathoff has returned again, sick
with chills and fever.
Making of sorghum molasses
was going on at a few of our cane
mills, but most ot the sorghum is
a failure like the other crops, and
aO the mill owners wiil nut ( have
m uch to do.
Mrs. J. W. Saathoff was going
to one of the cane mills with a load
of sorghum, J W. Saathoff being
away at work on the railroad,
when her little son, Alfred, wish-
ing to change his seat, fell off the
wagon one of the wheels passed
over his body cnusing very serious
internal injuries from which it is
yet doubtful whether he will re-
cover. From latest reports he
seemed to be doing a little better.
Sunday afternoon we had the
pleature to see the tank and irri-
gated garden of Capt. and Mrs. M.
S atnoff, and there it could painly
be seen what irrigation will do.
