Habitat for endangered species is
by no means limited to isolated,
exotic locales. According to National
Wildlife magazine, endangered pip-
ing plovers live near runways at
Kennedy International Airport. And
much of the world's only remaining
population of the flowering herb,
sand plain gerardia, is found in some
historic Massachusetts cemeteries.
