The scam which came to light after
the first part of the baby pageant in
Austin, made one wonder if the
follow-up would take place. It did,
March 28. Our little celebrity.
Karlton Tatch, received two certifi-
cates. One for beauty and one
health. He also received trophies for
personality, beauty and second place
in his age group. Karlton has his
trophies on display at his mother’s
beauty shop. In addition to his
parents, Donna and E.J., great
grandpa Emil Holtzer was present to
see the contest.
Easter Sunday was perfect as far as
the weather was concerned. Several
visitors were present for services at
St. John. Mrs. Kenney (Charlotte)
Zimmerman from Pleasanton, who
had visited her grandparents Satur-
day and Sunday, also Mrs. Vivian
Horlen, son and daughter from
Round Rock and Roxann (Jordan)
from Dallas.
Sunday afternoon, Kimmey Zim-
merman and children, who had
visited his parents at Roscoe, arrived
at grandparents, Charlie and Hilda
Hoffmann as did another grand-
daughter and husband, Gretchen
and Dan Copeland from San Saba.
Mona Evers was home with her
parents from San Angelo State for
spring break last week.
It’s good have Zane Bauer in our
midst again. He is doing his practis
teaching this semester in the Mason
High School.
Mr. and Mrs. Glen Jacks and their
o
homemaker. Additional awards are
presented for outstanding posters
and essays on soil and water
conservation by youths in the area.
The purpose of the awards program
is to recognize and honor a soil and
water conservation district and indi-
viduals who have dedicated their'
efforts and talents to making wise
use of renewable natural resources.
Sponsors of the regional awards
program are the Texas State Soil and
Water Conservation Board, the
Association of Texas Soil and Water
Conservation Districts, and the 206
local soil and water conservation
districts in Texas.
