The second
American bison calf born in 1988 at
the Sauer-Beckmann Living History
Farm at LBJ State Park arrived on
April 21, according to state parks
officials.
"Buffalo cows are extremely pro-
tective of their calves, so we are
staying out of their pasture right
now," said park superintendent
Donald Schuch. "We don’t know yet
if the calves are male or female."
The park herd now numbers 11
animals, and visitors can photograph
them through the nine-foot fence
that surrounds the game enclosure.
