The Bulldogs scored four in the
first and that cushion was enough to
secure their win, and put Llano’s
record at 3-3. Lance Dillard took the
loss for the Jackets. His record is
now 7-4 for the season.
The Jackets offense has been
sputtering, but Michael Brascom
seemed to offer some hope as he hit
his fifth homer of the season against
the Bulldogs. It was not enough. The

The Yellow Jackets’ chances of a
district playoff position took a step
backwards as the Jackets lost twice
this past week. On Tuesday, the
district-leading Burnet Bulldogs
came to town, and the Yellow
Jackets were in a position to tie them
Kingsland within two points of the
win.
Kingsland’s major team, sponsored
by Highland Lakes Bank, opened its
season with a home run by David
Roark, a triple by Jeff Carico and
doubles by Larry Brumfield and Rob
Whitaker against Llano People’s
Savings and Loan. Final score:
LPS&L, 19, KHLB, 6.
The second game was highlighted
by a triple from David Roark and a
double from Robbie Hays. The score
stood 6-2 at the end of the third
inning, but Kingsland lost out in the
final innings. Final score: LNB, 24.
KHLB, 5.
In minor leagues, the Colt 45’s
pitcher Ron Yates helped bring the
team within one run of the win, also
scoring each time he got on base
against the Hoerster Clinic team.
The Wildcats scored another victory
to bring their record to 2 - 2 for the
season. Final scores: K. American
Legion, 4, FLB, 13. Kasper Builders,
