The groom’s formally-attired party
consisted of Ken Shaffer, the
groom’s brother, best man; Jimmy
Roberts, Doug Ricketson, Bret Jus-
tis, Tom Schroeder, the bride’s
brother, attendants; and ushers Dale
Bauman and Tom Schroeder.
Josh Roberts was flower girl Erica
Beasley’s escort.
A garden reception was held at the
home of the groom’s mother in
Valley Spring.
At the bride’s table were Rosanna
Hester Toleman and Sherry and Dahl
Rode. Serving at the groom’s table
were Donna Swope and Kathy
Shaffer. Donna Swope was in charge
of the bride’s book.
The rehearsal dinner, hosted by the
parents of the groom, took place at
the Badu House on June 17.
Out-of-town guests attending the
event were from Alaska, Delaware,
Alabama, Japan, Houston, Austin,
San Angelo and Amarillo.
The new Mrs. Shaffer is a Llano
High School graduate. She received
a bachelor of science degree at
Angelo State in 1987, and a master’s
of arts in teaching degree in 1988.
Mr. Shaffer is a 1981 Llano High
School graduate.
The wedding trip took the couple to
Ocho Rios, Jamaca.
To the delight of the Shroeder
family, an unexpected guest was
able to attend the ceremony. Bomi
Shroff, from Kobe, Japan, who had
lived with the Schroeders in Califor-
nia in California a number of years
ago while attending college, found
his way to the church in time for the
event, even though he lacked the
address of anyone in the area to
contact for directions.
Shoff, who is of Indian/Japanese
descent, sometimes cared for the
Schroeder children while he was a
college student. Although he has
made several trips to the United
States in connection with his export-
import business, he and the Schroe-
ders hadn’t seen each other for 18
years. He was warmly welcomed by
the Schroeder family.
