began a two-weekend chalk painting
activitiy which received enthusiastic
response.
Assisting last weekend were Doe

We were sad to hear of the death
last week of Hattie Bure, Bonnie
Sekerak's stepmother, in Moody,
Texas. Memorials have been made

Funeral service* for Alta Mae
Woody, 87, of Llano, were held
August 6, 1988, at Waldrope-Hat-
field Chapel with the Rev. Rodger
Croker officiating. Burial was at
Salem Cemetery.
Mrs. Woody, who died August 4.
was born in Datura, Texas, on
December 23, 1900, to C.N. Parker
and the former Minnie Bayless. The
widow of Marion Woody, she was a
member of the First Baptist Church
in Bowie, Texas.
She is survived by her sister, Mrs.
Pauline Ratliff of Llano; two ne-
phews, Glenn Ratliff of Llano and
Sherman Ratliff of Grand Prairie and
a niece, Sherry Fain of Portland,
Texas.
Pallbearers were Clayton Gage,
Clyde Dowdle, Richard Gilbert, Jim
Calloway, Tilmon Harlow and Lynn
Hoy.
In a recent issue of the Llano
News, a marriage license was listed
as having been issued to Michael
Francis Peters and Kathryn Yvonne
Jackson. The correct listing should
have been Michael Francis Peters

children completed sculptural pro-
jects, some .of which, will be shown
in conjunction with the art show at
the gallery August 21, 3 to 5 p.m.
Children wishing to enter the
competition still have time to com-
plete projects, which should be
turned in August 16 and 17, along
with 32 entry fee per entry, up to
four. Both arts and crafts projects
will be eligible for ribbon and prize
awards.
Show judges are Fannie Suffel,
Barbara Stovall and Louise George of
the guild. In addition to myself,
chairman, other committees are:
exhibits, Pat Renick, Anne Mott and
Bea Wimberley; social, Jamie bond,
Gayle Hunter and refreshments by
members: Will A Smarr, Thelma
Rogers, Jewel Gregory and Alma
Birk, telephone and publicity, Henry
Morgan and Bea Wimberley.
There remain only two more weeks
of art classes and our children have

Services took place at W aidrope-
Hatfield Chapel on August 4, 1988,
for Charlie McCall, 16, of Lone
Grove. The Rev. Stanley Nixon
officiated. Burial was at Board
Branch Cemetery.
Charlie, who was born on May 13,
1972, in Llano County to Robert
McCall and the former Marilyn
Levensailor, died on August 1. He
lived with his grandmother, Mrs.
Etna McCall; was an honor roll
student at Llano High School and
was a member of the Llano Yellow
Jacket Band.
Besides his grandmother, Elna
McCall of Lone Grove, he is survived
by a brother, Ray McCall, and a
sister, Nicki McCall, both of Lone
Grove; his father, Robert McCall of
Andrews; his mother, Marilyn Lev-
ensailor, and his grandmother, Lois
Levensailor.
Pallbearers were M.F. Patton, Burl
Bates, Kenneth Smarr, Kenney

one and one-half percent.
Checks totaling 310.4 million were
sent to 81 Texas counties that collect
the One-half percent optional county
sales tax, Bullock said.
Eight of the 12 area communities
are on the plus side while four
continue to get lesser amounts as
compared to the previous year.
