Thursday, the 25th, a group of
Kassell relatives, including Dorothy
Kassell, Joan Myers, Teresa Kassell
and Helen Kassell flew from Austin
to Hobart, Indiana for a Norton
family reunion of the relatives of the
late Mrs. Fritz Kassell. After the
reunion, Helen, Teresa and Joan
went on to Chicago on a sightseeing
trip. They attempted to see the Astro
bail game at Wrigley Field, but it
was rained out. They journeyed back
to Hobart to get Dorothy and flew
home, tired but happy.

hamlet, it is only brown. Wednesday
last, the temperature in my north
window and also on a south porch
registered 108 degrees. Now that is
just a little warm.
Sunday, across the river on 152, a
few miles below us, there was a
small grass fire. One cannot be too
careful.
Mona Evers was home for the
weekend with two of her classmates,
Lori and Monica as guests. They
attended the fair in Fredericksburg
which was a new experience for the
visiting girls.
Norma Ever’s visitor one day last
week was Henry Petmecky from

The Baptist womens celebration of
the National WMU centennial was
observed August 25 at 7 p.m. at the
fellowship hall. Ruth Millican and
Bobbie Burke attended the National
WMU centennial celebration in
Richmond, Virginia in May, presen-
ted a dialogue and showed a video of
the national celebration. The serving
table carried out the WMU colors of
purple and gold. The centennial
cake was decorated with the centen-
nial logo: 1888-1988. Grape punch
was served. The table’s centerpiece
was purple and gold. Materials and
mementoes of the celebration, and
WMU literature of past years were
on display.

Tuesday of last week, Castell was
privileged to have another visitor
from Castell, Germany. A couple
from Houston were here and brought
a young man,' Andra Lang from
Castell, Germany, who was visiting
them. They were quite impressed
with our little hamlet. They were at
the store, filling station, beauty
salon and went to both churches. It
was 1981, when we, as a community
entertained with a pot luck supper
Prince Albrecht Castell, his wife,
Princess Maria-Louise and son,
Count Georg all from Castell,
Germany. In their conversation at
the time, we were told there were
only two towns in the whole world
named Castell.
