The poor weather subject has been
carried too far, but I think that our
grandfathers sure would have a hard
time now days predicting this
weather. It is so erratic, with a good
rain in some places and over the
fence, not a drop.

Hal and Camilla Burnett are home
after a trip that took them to
Kexington, Kentucky where they
attended the Triennal Enclave of the
Knights Templars on August 5-9.
There were some 300 from all parts
of the world in attendance. They
report a great time.
Those visiting Troy and Margretta
Bentley were their son and family,
David and Susann Bentley, Michelle
of Dr. Paul Williams at his home in
Port Aransas where they entered the
Mako Tournament and the party
caught the most and the largest king ,
fish. Don won the plaque for the
largest fish. He and his family
enjoyed the good meat.
The Tow Baseball Association is
having a bake sale on Saturday,
September 3 at the Square Deal
Store at the entrance to Buchanan
Lake Village. The proceeds will
further the play of the youth of our
community.
Carmen Alexander is home after
visiting her family in Hollis, Okla-
homa. While there, she visited
brother Mr. and Mrs. John Kyser,
sister Annie Wolf and Mary Humph-
rey. They all attended the reunion of
OM Community, where they were all
raised.

The Tow Cemetery Association met
Thursday evening at the Community
House with 16 members present.
Final plans were made for the
rummage and bake sale on Friday
and Saturday. September 2 and 3.
Officers for the coming year were
elected. They are Max Alexander,
president, Carol Behrns, vice presi-
dent; Mildred Baugh, secretary-
treasurer; Lottie Wyckoff, reporter
and Miles Bragg, trustee. If you
have items for the sale, call
379-2721, 379-7585 or 379-2545.
Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Rampey and
Christi of Harper and Don Nead of
Kerrville visited Mr. and Mrs. T.W.
Nead last week.
Bill and Pris Gage and Carol and
■Ethel Greenfield were in Austin on
Thursday for Carol to see his doctor.
Wilton Key is home after spending
several days in the Llano hospital.

been reset for Monday, the 12th, due
to the Labor Day holiday.
It will be a salad luncheon day with
members of the Highland Lakes Arts
Council as our noontime guests,
according to president Barbara
Stovall. The executive board will
meet prior to the 1:30 business
session.
During the last week of August,
exhibits at the gallery have been
enriched by winners in our annual
children’s show and also with a
display of work from our six weeks of
free children’s art classes.
We are grateful to all of the public
who responded with enthusiasm to
our efforts during these past weeks,
supporting the work and encourag-
ing our children’s participation.
Especially, we are proud of the
wonderful children who came. Those
in our classes for first to fourth
