During the time the lakes will be
lowered — October 22 to November
21 — there will be an opportuniyt for
maintenance and repair of walls,
piers, boat houses, etc. and general
clean up. The fire chief has indicated
the department will be as lenient as
possible during this period and all
efforts will be made to keep the no
burning sign down.
The dry weather we have had. in
combination with wind, can create a
dangerous situation and can make it
necessary to restrict burning at
times. You wili need a permit to burn
to help hold down false alarms. They
may be obtained by calling 388-6438
from 8:30 to noon weekdays, and
weekend numbers are posted at the
entrance to the city. The permit is
good for the day given.
You will need water at the site and
not be able to add to the fire after 4
p.m. Your fire department is con-
cerned with your welfare and will be
on the alert. Please cooperate in
preventing any unfortunate acci-
dents.
