with the rest of the floor in order to
prevent anyone from falling. We
want to thank John Swope. Fred
Peters and Barb Barbour for their
hard work, and for helping the
gallery to be a safer place.
An associate member of our gallery
suffered the loss of her home by fire
early Friday morning, December 16.
A fire at any time is awful, but just a
week before Christmas is devasta-
ting. Although they had to escape
through a bedroom window, Wanda
Voight is thankful no one was hurt. It
is too early to know what their needs
will be, but our best wishes are with
them during this time.
We had a note from Arlene Egert
and her new Florida address is
available at the gallery.
The gallery will be closed Christ-
mas day and New Year’s day. We
wish everyone a painting for Christ-
mas and we'll have a happy new
year. too.

discharge lines and inspect the shore
for unusually flourishing plant life,
which could indicate potential seep-
age from failed septic systems.
If the crews find indications of
failed system, they will introduce an
environmentally degradable dye into
the system to see whether it is a
source of pollution for the lake,
Haverlah explained.
"When Lake LBJ was lowered, we
conducted several dye tests and
found no problems with septic
systems," Haverlah said. "We hope
that the same will be true at Lake
Buchanan."

AUSTIN — The Lower Colorado
River Authority will survey the Lake
Buchanan shoreline during the next
30 days for possible sources of
pollution of the lake.
"The level of Lake Buchanan is
down about 11 feet now, and it is a
good opportunity for us to check the
shoreline for any sewer line dis-
charge pipes or evidence of failed
disposal systems,” said Dennis
Haverlah of LCRA’s Environmental
Quality Department.
Technical crews will cover the 192
. nlles of shoreline, using boats and

gift buying, I have a few of our

lovely gifts. Also, I understand there
is a new gift shop in the chamber of
commerce building at the dam.
The Red Barn Auxiliary needs
