For Local Veterans
The Van Zandt County Voca-
tional School announced this week
that a new course for veterans has
been approved by the Texas Edu-
cation Agency.
The new course offered in Live-
stock Production provides a study
of th? types and breeds of live-
stock found in each section of the
state. Training in managerial and
manipulative skills necessary to
make a success of livestock enter-
prises will be the main objective.
The Van Zandt County Voca-
tional School offers courses under
Public Law 550, 894. and 610. A
veteran may take advantage of
his eligibility by a choice of
courses: Farmer, general farmer,
livestock, bookkeeping II and III,
accounting, auto mechanics, and
auto body repairman.
The county school has recently
purchased a new and up-to-date
training facility for the trade and
industrial class offered at Grand
Saline.

Jail For Burglary
Herman Lee Hill, 18, of Fruit-
vale is being held in the county
jail pending a hearing in district
court before Judge A A Dawson

tence.
Hill was placed under the 5-year
probated sentence in April for his
part in the burglary of the West-
ern Auto Store in Grand Saline.
He and a 15-year-old youth were
arrested in Fort Worth November
6 for the burglary of a Fort Worth
