guilty of "jitteritis" as they commit-
ted six errors while yielding seven
unearned runs. The lone hit came in
the top of the fifth by Daniel
Waldrip. The losing pitcher for the
Jackets was Keith Goodson, who got
little defensive help and even less
offensively. Goodson’s record now is
1-1 for the season.

The Yellow Jackets improved their
record to 3-1 in district as they
defeated a stubborn Badger team by
the slim margin of 3-2. The Jackets
did not get it going until the bottom
of the third when freshman Jason

Winfrey then slapped a single to left
that moved Eckert to third. On the
next pitch, Winfrey stole second,
setting the stage for Jeff Kuyken-
dall. A hard baae hit by Kuykendall
aaw both runners score to put Llano
up 2-0.
The Badgers scored an unearned
run off Lance Dillard to make it 2-1.
The Jackets, however, got their
winning run with a two-out fifth
inning rally. Kuykendall received a
walk, and Chad Wootan got his
second hit of the night moving
Kuykendall to third. Michael Bras-
com then connected for a bad hop
baae hit off the shortstop to score
Kuykendall.
With a 3-1 lead, Dillard ran into a
little control problem in the top of the
sixth. A two-out bases-loaded walk
gave the Badgers their second run.
Other than that, Dillard pitched as
good a game as you would expect.
For the evening, he allowed only four
hits, two walks and hit by pitch.
Dillard improved his record to 7-2, a
and 3-0 in district.

The Yellow Jackets improved their
record to 11-8 for the season. Lance
Dillard has an opportunity to have
the most wins in a season for a
Jacket. His current seven wins ties
him with some fine company. Both
Jim Ed Overstreet (1987) and Doug
Goodson (1966) won seven games.
Dillard should get a couple of three .
chances to get numbers eight, nine
and 10.
