• STATEMENT OF INTENT
: TO CHANGE RATES
‘GTE Southwest Incorporated, in
-accordance with the Rules of the
Public Utility Commission of Texas,
hereby gives notice of the Company's
intent to implement a new schedule
of rates in Texas, effective July 6.
1988. This proceeding has been
previously docketed by the Com-
mission as Docket No. 5610.
The proposed changes in rates will
affect approximately 970,500 of
the Company's Texas customers
who represent all classes of
customers subscribing to the
Company’s local exchange and
foreign exchange services within
the State of Texas, as well as all
entities subscribing to the Com-
pany's billing and collection
services within' the state. The
proposed changes in rates are
designed to increase the Company’s
intrastate revenues by $81,407,000,
or approximately 11.8 percent
annually. 4
Persons who wish to intervene or
otherwise participate in these
proceedings should notify the
Commission as soon as possible. A
request to intervene, participate, or
for further information should be
mailed to the Public Utility Com
mission of Texas, 7800 Shoal Creek
Boulevard, Suite 400N, Austin,
Texas 78757. Further information
may also be obtained by calling the
Public Utility Commission Con-
sumer Affairs Division at (512)

A complete set of revised rate
schedules has been filed with the
Public Utility Commission at Austin,
Texas, and is available for public
inspection in each of the Com-
pany’s Business Offices in the State
of Texas. A summary of the
Company's rate filing has also been
sent to the Mayor’s office of each
affected Municipality.

Kanz, a native of New Braunfels is
a 1959 graduate of New Braunfels ।
High School. Kanz attended South-
west Texas State University in San
Marcos.
In 1971 he assumed the duties of
loan officer with Community Savings
and Loan in Fredericksburg and in
1981 he became associated with
Marble Falls National Bank.
Later that year Kanz moved back
to Fredericksburg and become assoc-
iated with Security State Bank of
Fredericksburg.

The 1988-89 dues are payable and
the amount is still $11. Early
payment will assist the Unit in
making goal this year. The Unit
meets the second Monday of each
month at 7:30 p.m. at the Kingsland
Legion Post.

American Legion Auxiliary Unit 437

The Texas Department Auxiliary
Convention will be held July 21
through July 24 at Corpus Christi,
and twelve delegates were elected to
attend. The Unit’s own Bea
Fuhrman is a candidate for Depart-
ment President.
