As many of you know, Bob and I have just returned from a 5,000 mile
trip in the western part of the U.S., that ended with a orchestral
Elderhostel in Colorado. It was a simply wonderful experience, and
though it’s good to be home, I’ll be ready to go again at the drop of a
baton.
I will try to be accurate with my information, but having been gone
for so long, please be patient while I get my head on straight.
The Lake Country Handweavers Guild is sponsoring a fun workshop
this coming Tuesday and Wednesday at the Red Barn. It will be
“landscape-weaving” and from what I have seen, some beautiful
things can be done. Though the class may be full, and the deadline for
registration has past (June 20) why don’t you give Rowena West (512)
793-6208 or Amy Fernbach (512) 756-6046 a call to see if you can't get
in. It should be fun.
CALENDAR OF EVENTS
Thursday, June 30 - The Thursday afternoon crafts and cards should
be meeting this afternoon at the Red Barn from 1 to 4. This is not a
closed club, and the folks who take part would welcome you, should
you be interested. The Flashbacks will resume meeting at the Deal
home at 7 tonight. Give me a call for information at 793-2209.
Saturday, July 1 - This being the first Saturday of the month, the Blue
Grass folks should be pickin’ and strumming at the Red Barn starting
at about 2 or 2:30 p.m. They break for pot luck supper about 5 and
resume the fun for the rest of the evening. You are invited to come and
play or listen, and if you’d like to stay for the supper, just bring a dish
to share and your own table service. There is no admission charge, but
a donation is accepted to help cover costs for the hall, etc.
Sunday, July 3, The Hazen family will be holding its reunion at the
Red Barn today...and don’t you forget to call Eddie Jean Warren at
793-2820 if you would like to reserve the community center for your
reunion or other event.
Monday, July 4 - Being Independence Day, Overeaters Anonymous,
or the Lionu Club may not meet. You’d better call those in charge to
double check. r
Tuesday, July 5 - The Golden Beach Chat-n’Sew ladies are planning
a picnic sometime about now, but I don’t have the exact information.
However, the Lake Country Handweavers will be holding their
workshop today and tomorrow at the Red Barn as mentioned earlier in
the colum...don’t forget the fun that can be had at the Barn every
