incentive for attendance will be door

Still other things going on in LJ H to

perfect attendance recognition will
be made during the school year, each

student is present in class daily,
more learning will take place. During
October, those with perfect atten-

treated to a treat for their faithful-
ness in pursuing excellence in
education.
Accent this year is also going to be
given to courtesy toward teachers
and peers. September 6, Tuesday,
will be one of many days set aside to
remember courtesy rules. Those
days will be entitled, “Courtesy pays

will lead to very pleasant times in
classes, halls, and outside of school.

Llano Junior High School has
adopted the motto “Dauber pride
through pursuit of excellence.”
It is the purpose and mission of the
Llano Junior High School to provide
all of its students with an educational
program which will allow them to
develop to their full potential intel-
lectually, physically, and socially in
order to be responsible citizens and
contributing members of society.
The first activity to promote enthu-
siasm toward learning and excel-
lence will be the scholarly pep rally,
the first morning in the new
cafetorium. Cheerleaders and twir-
lers will lead the students in a yell
concerning scholarship, then the
familiar “Victory” yell. After this
good start, the teachers will be
introduced by the counselor and
given Dauber pins. At the conslusion
of this, Principal Richard Gilbert will
give students directions for getting
started on their “Excellence” year.
In the halls, the motto has been
hung. After the first six weeks, the
counselor will place names of
students, by subject area, on the
bottom of the banners if the teacher
has listed that student as one who
really put forth extra effort in
studies, projects, and the like, for
the six-week period.
Activity Perled
Activity period is new this year for
junior high. During this time,
students who do not fail and who
complete assignments will have
choices of activities they enjoy, like
hobbies, physical activities, or other
scholastic interest. Those who do not
get their lessons in on time, or who
are failing will be assigned to study
hall or tutoring each day.
Wednesday each week has been
declared “Reading time for all
people in the building.” The stud-
ents and teachers alike will be
