doubt about it: it should be an
interesting contest but at this
point there doesn’t seem much
doubt as to how the game will
turn out. Athens has a strong
club and they have the desire
to win the district crown. They
are very close to the title and
they know it and this should
prove the big factor in their
game with Lancaster. This con-
test should end something

We were talking with a friend
the other day and he had just
returned from a business trip a
few weeks ago out in California.
At one point or stretch of road
be became involved with an
Army convoy that Was moving
upstate. In fact, by his speedo-
meter it took a total of 92 miles
before he was clear of this con-
gestion. And then the thought
struck us about the Ennis fans
enroute to Duncanville tomor-

support more than ever now and
it would certainly show evidence

Ennis and Duncanville are
all set for what could turn
out to be a most interesting
game. There is a rumor
around that Kenneth Wool-
ridge, an outstanding perform-
er for the Lions this year, may
be lost for the rest of the
season because of an ankle
injury. Also that Donnie Pruitt
is ailing and might miss the
Duncanville game. Of course
this is bad news and the loss

BREDENTOWN, Fla. (AP). —
The former manager of the
Cincinnati Reds, Fred Hutchin-
son, died early today in a hos-
pital here. He stepped down Oc-
tober 19 as manager of the Reds
when his fight against chest can-
cer begin to fail. Hutchison
was Baseball’s Manager of the
Year in 1957 for his second
place finish with the St. Louis
Cardinals—and again in 1961
for a pennant winner at Cin-
cinnati. Before he became man-
ager, Hutchison was a successful
pitcher in the minors and with
the Detroit Tigers. His best
pitching years at Detroit were
1949—when he was 15-7, and
1950—when he was 17-8. In ad-
dition to his widow, 45-ycarold
Hutchison leaves four children,
the oldest 20 and the youngest
nine years.

The man was arrested in an
apartment to which he had
gained admission by telling a
hostess that he knew her room-
mate. Officers said the man did
not know either woman.
The police force was beefed
up in the northern part of Dal-

ed and a number of others
molested in recent weeks.

Duncanville will be healthy:
and ready for this contest. Even
though this scribe hopes sin-
cerely he will miss this guess
it looks like Duncanville will
have to be the favorite to win.
It should be close with the score:
Duncanville 20, Ennis 12.
In case you pro football
fans haven’t heard yet there is
a game scheduled for the Cot-
ton Bowl Sunday afternoon
that should prove interesting.
The Dallas Cowboys, riding a
3 game winning streak, play
host to the Philadelphia Eagl
es. The Cowboys have really
played some inspired ball late-
ly and they have definite plans
to make it four in a row—by
j licking the Eagles.
